John Marshall’s Odyssey of the Mind team is looking for imaginative students who are up for a challenge. Odyssey is an international program that provides creative, problem-solving competitions for students.
Every fall, Odyssey teams are sent five problems and must decide which problem to tackle. This year, JM’s team chose the problem “Aesop Gone Viral” which required the team to choose a fable and create the script, props, costumes and set to tell the story.
For the past six years, JM’s Odyssey team has won at states and qualified for the world competition. “I liked going to the world competition. A vast variety of teams from other countries, like Russia, Thailand, China, Germany and Switzerland compete in OotM and travel from all over the world to compete,” said Senior Morgan Wiedebusch.
This year’s state competition will be in Vienna, WV, and the world competition will be at Iowa State University. For more information about this team, contact Mrs. Clark in room 239 or visit OdysseyOfTheMind.com.
