Since July, National Honor Society has been hard at work helping others.  As a service organization, the goal of the group is to volunteer its time and talents to make a positive difference in the school and community.

Over the summer, members volunteered at Grand Vue Park’s Wounded Warrior event by running the children’s game stations.

In August, NHS distributed student schedules, assisted with freshmen orientation, and worked at the Marshall County Back-to-School Fun Fair.  A small group of volunteers transported class pictures to Jefferson Avenue businesses to display for the Moundsville High School   reunion weekend.

Since returning to school, the group has helped with the Friends of Special Athletes Quarter Auction and the JMHS Cross Country Invitational.

The holiday season officially began for NHS members on November 8, when they assembled Christmas trees for the Marshall County Chamber of Commerce Annual Tree Gala,  In the weeks ahead, they will be Christmas shopping for Paws for a Cause, ringing bells for the Salvation Army, and distributing gifts  at a community Breakfast with Santa event.
