Paws for a Cause Advisor Mrs. Robbins (shown) along with Advisor Mrs. Gary help to ensure our students have an enjoyable holiday season.

Thanks to the generosity of the Niekamp Foundation, for the second year in a row the Paws For a Cause Club will make the holidays brighter for students. Last year, some caring students organized Paws For A Cause, a group that helps students in need. Over the Thanksgiving break, club members will be shopping for more than 40 students.  The Niekamp Foundation has made it possible to spend $100 on each student in need.

Paws has helped almost 100 students over the past year.  With the help of the Niecamp Foundation, the group has provided gift cards to help students      purchase outfits and tickets for homecoming and prom, and purchased    Christmas gifts for over 50 students. Paws for a Cause partnered with National Honor Society to shop for and wrap the gifts. Club advisors, Mrs. Gary and  Mrs. Robbins, are now planning this year’s Christmas shopping.  Gary said, "I think it was very rewarding for the kids to be able to help their peers. The student shoppers didn’t know for whom they were shopping; they only knew they were JM students.”

Students who want to help Paws for a Cause can see Gary or Robbins, and those who know of a fellow Monarch in need should talk to a counselor.
