John Marshall High School student Patience Whipkey was recently awarded a $1000 scholarship from the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS).
Patience is a junior in the Broadcasting department. She was one of 225 outstanding NTHS members to receive the Jon H. Poteat Scholarship.
The Jon H. Poteat Scholarship, named in honor and memory of the co-founder of the Society, is awarded annually to NTHS members who consistently exemplify the seven character attributes of NTHS – Skill, Honesty, Service, Responsibility, Scholarship, Citizenship and Leadership.
NTHS is the leader in recognizing student achievement in career and technical education. More than 4,350 schools and colleges are affiliated with the Society.
