JM Band Plays on WTRF Broadcast

The John Marshall Marching Monarchs performed on television Tuesday evening during the 5th annual WTRF 7 Sports Zone High School Kickoff Show.

The band was invited to play on the program as a sound track before commercial breaks. Their segments were prerecorded for the ABC Ohio Valley broadcast because of the inclement weather.

JM Band Director Tracey Filben appreciates Channel 7 has offered her students this unique experience for the past three years.  “This tradition has become a great way for us to kick off a new football season,” explained Filben. “The band members enjoy being able to display their talents to a larger audience.”

The talented Marching Monarchs will perform during all five JMHS varsity home football games. Their halftime show features the music of the “King of Rock ‘n’ Roll” Elvis Presley. Tunes include: Can’t Help Falling in Love, Burning Love and C.C. Rider. The 2018 Field Commander is senior Kailey Filben.

New JM Head Varsity Football Coach Jason Willis and Cameron Dragons Head Varsity Football Coach Scott Holt also appeared on the broadcast along with players and cheerleaders from both Marshall County high schools.
