As the 2018-2019 season finale, Monarch Company is delighted to present Legally Blonde, The Musicalat the John Marshall High School Center for Performing Arts Friday, March 29 through Sunday, March 31, 2019.
“Audiences are going to be tickled pink by Legally Blonde,” says director Tracey Filben. “This is a feel-good musical with a valuable message: Be true to yourself.”
Based on the hit movie, Legally Blonde, The Musicalis an invigorating gift of musical fun, wrapped up with a snappy pink bow. Elle Woods is the southern California co-ed cutie who is accustomed to getting what she wants. When her boyfriend, Warner, calls it off because she is not serious about her future, Elle turns her attention from fashion to the books and enrolls in Harvard Law School. Along the way, Elle proves that kindness and compassion never go out of style. This high-energy show was written by Heather Hach with a catchy score with music and lyrics by Laurence O’Keefe and Nell Benjamin.
The show stars Kailey Filben as Elle Woods. Madi Blake portrays Paulette Bonafonte, the beautician who encourages Elle to be true to herself and her natural hair color. Zac Tucker plays the handsome but self-centered Warner, Elle’s college boyfriend. Creed Kidney plays Emmett,the Harvard Teaching Assistant who sees Elle’s true potential. Ben Games is the formidable Professor Callahan. Justice Robinson is cast as the prestige – seeking Vivienne, Elle’s nemesis. Leah Reuschel whips us into shape as the fitness queen Brooke Wyndom. As Pilar, Margo and Serena, the melodic voices of Lauren Brannan, Hannah Lynch and Emily Anderson will harmonize as Elle’s’ trusted muses.
Supporting roles are filled by Jessica Jasinski, Paige Wallace, Mikayla Lautar-Hall, Riley Klug, Tyler Truex, Brayden Snider, Kaitlin Bailey, Kalyn Sobutka, Mariana Martinez, Maddie Estep, Wesley Standiford, Carly Henderson, Jim Gracey, Trixie Calissie, Jocelynne Wells, Ashley Schwing, Jackson Stromatos, Peyton Reilly and Kiersten Moses.
Legally Blonde, The Musical is directed by Tracey Filben with music direction by Leslie Garrett. Anna Harsh is the choreographer.
