The Knights of Columbus John Marshall Students of the Month for February are Amanda Rine and Nick Sessums.
Amanda is involved in horseback riding, track and field, Chess Club and Spirit Club.
John Marshall Assistant Principal Geno Polsinelli recognizes Rine’s commitment to John Marshall. “Amanda is involved in several different clubs and extracurricular activities at the high school. She makes really good grades. Amanda comes well recommended by her teachers. Her teachers say she wears her heart on her sleeve, has a great personality and is a hard worker.”
Amanda is proud to be recognized. “It feels like a great honor to be Student of the Month and to be able to represent my school in such a positive way,” said Rine.
Nick is involved in archery, golf and plays the cello.
Polsinelli believes that Nick’s character deserves this award. “Nick has a good family support system. His teachers also recognize him as a very hard worker. He cares about his grades and his work ethic is top notch. His personality shines through with the smile that he has every day. Nick puts forth a good effort and he’s a concerned student who isn’t afraid to ask for assistance when needed.”
Nick feels ecstatic to be Student of the Month. “I feel honored because there are a lot of other kids who got it, and I got and so I can represent my school.”
