John Marshall High School held a “Feed the Funnel” party after school on Wednesday.
Students, faculty, staff and administrators packed shelf-stable meals, assembly-line style. Each container included rice, lentils, dried vegetables and vitamins.
The funnel party was scheduled to last two hours; however, it took the nearly 100 volunteers just 30 minutes to fill a record-breaking 15,300 meal kits. At the school’s previous “Feed the Funnel” community service event, it took the faculty and staff 90 minutes to reach its goal of 15,000.
Meals packed will be donated to local organizations.
