John Marshall High School was one of the 71 schools the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission honored with the “Champions for College Access and Success” award based on its efforts in helping students plan for college and careers.
During the 2024-2025 academic year, JMHS participated in three College for West Virginia (CFWV) college access and success initiatives, including College Application and Exploration Week, meeting specific FAFSA completion goals and College Decision Day events. Each milestone has specific components to help college-bound students in WV prepare for and transition to college.
The “Champions for College Access and Success” recognizes schools, administrators and school counselors who go the extra mile to ensure students have the tools and resources to be successful in pursing education after high school.
A ceremony was held on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, to honor the schools being celebrated for their role in increasing college access and success in West Virginia.
