April JM CTE Students of the Month

Nevaeh Burge and Trishtan Markey have been selected as the Career & Technical Education Students of the Month at John Marshall High School for April.

Burge is a senior in the Therapeutic Services program and is the daughter of Ralph and Holly Burge of Moundsville. She is a member Monarch Medical and HOSA- Future Health Professionals. Burge enjoys hunting, fishing, riding ATVs, shopping, hanging out with friends, spending time with family and raising her son, Cole.

“I believe the Therapeutic Services CTE classes have helped me in many ways,” Burge said. “One way in particular that I’ll never forget is even when I had no faith in myself I had two great teachers, Mrs. Durrah and Mrs. Kull, who had faith in me to do anything. Not only do I feel like my teachers motivated me, but my classmates also had an impact on my success.” She plans to continue on the nursing path to work in a hospital and possibly attend college.

Markey is a senior in the Broadcasting Technology program and is the daughter of Michelle Markey of Moundsville. She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society and WJMH Media where she has served as the director at remote events for four years. Outside of school, Markey enjoys skateboarding, kayaking and playing tennis.

“Broadcasting has taught me how to responsible,” said Markey. “Mrs. McElhaney has taught me the importance being helpful and always giving it my all.in everything I do.” She will attend West Liberty University to major in Broadcasting.
